Talisman,far beyond decoration!

I  hear again and again, I really don’t need jewelry,  I don’t wear what I have!

Recently, an exhibit in Edinburgh of Celtic discoveries jarred that view with powerful golden artistry unearthed from thousands years back. It spoke wonders of  lost lives. The jewelry transcended all the dust of time. Immortality was achieved.  In my minds eye those folks lived again.  Not barbarians, but  people with a sophisticated eye for beauty and the craft to back it up.

Are we making a mistake to not honor  and celebrate the best parts of our lives in an effort to be practical. The jewelry we wear to commemorate the loves and achievement of our lives will be all that our future generations have to enliven us to them.

Go to the lengths to discover jewelry that truly excites you,  that you will wear each day. A proper Talisman. Trade in the jewelry you don’t care for.  Never buy  cheap imitations, you won’t  love to wear it, you will ultimately  throw it into the drawer with the rest of the drawer jewelry.

Creating Amulets & Talismans

Because Life is Short!

Reminded of this far too often lately, as I work away on the parade of Engagement & Anniversary rings, considering the dilemma, my thoughts fall on the difficulty of expressing the complex deep emotions we have for those we love that smolder beneath our busy day to day. The Romantic dinner or dream getaway just don’t often turn out that way. Spontaneous moments of deep shared expression are rare. Polishing the bejeweled ring between my finger, the why of what I do occurs.  Jewelry is the messenger, amulet, totem, symbol of what we wish to, but too often do not get around to expressing, constantly reminding. The total frivolous, unnecessary nature of jewelry only serves to amplify the message.   If it has been far too long since you sent the messenger– perhaps it is time to see the Jeweler.

I found this blog, http://debravanwinegarden.blogspot.com/2014/11/finger-rock-guard-6475-pusch-ridge.html, looking for an image of the view of the Catalina Mountains I have out my front door.  It is a wonderful entree to the Finger Rocks Trail and an stunning area of the Catalina mountains only minutes away from any where in the north central area of Tucson’s Catalina Foothills.  With this introduction, I will let the Blog speak of it’s self.

Is there as Huxley suggested in the 1950s a relationship between the gems hue and those of stained glass, that sounds an harmonic in our souls.  see   ALDOUS HUXLEY’S DOORS OF PERCEPTION AND HEAVEN AND HELL.http://www.johnbyronkuhner.com/2009/04/aldous-huxleys-doors-of-perception-and-heaven-and-hell/

I like the thought of it, though I have no interest in proof.  I just love a mystery, all the more fun.  I have posted an image of a fabulous Tutti Frutti necklace to demonstrate the point.  The neclace was made for Mrs. Daisy Fellowes, on display during the Cartier exibition ‘The Power of Style’ held at Prague Castle, in Prague, Czech Republic, 06 September 2010. Necklace is made from gold, diamonds, platinum, sapphires and rubies material.  I am amused by the prospect of folks seeking religious experience seeking jewelry.
